ABOUT ATF
About us
The Africa Teachers Festival (ATF) is a landmark annual event organized under the Africa Youth Festival Foundation, dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and transforming the lives of teachers across the African continent. It is more than a festival—it is a movement to reposition the teaching profession as a noble, innovative, and culturally significant career that deserves recognition, respect, and reinvestment.
The African Teachers Festival (ATF) was born from a deep concern: teachers in Africa are overlooked, underappreciated, and overwhelmed. From rural classrooms to urban schools, their voices echo with resilience—but their struggles are often ignored.
A recent survey conducted among Gen Z youths revealed a stark truth: only 20% said they would consider becoming a teacher if given another chance.
This statistic is not just a number. It’s a wake-up call.
ATF is our bold answer. A call to restore the honor, relevance, and well-being of teachers in Africa through innovation, healing, community, and celebration.
Our Why
In many African nations, teachers are the backbone of education systems but remain undervalued, underpaid, and unsupported. Despite their tireless efforts, they are rarely celebrated.
